General House Moving Checklist

We often have quite a bit to do once we have sold a house or when moving to a new one. We have compiled a “to-do” list for your convenience as a little reminder, should you forget to or would like to do any of these tasks. Please find them below:

 Have you…

• Found a moving service?
• Do you have a South African Will/Last Testament?
• Notified all concerned, including account holders &
  subscribers of your change of address?
• Cancelled / arranged insurance on your old /
  new home, does it cover you during the move?
• Ordered or changed your telephone line / number? 
• Applied for or cancelled & reconnected your water & electricity?
• Notified your home and garden service that you
  are moving?
• Organized to get your MNet or Dstv reconnected
  & re-installed? (if applicable)
• Booked a cleaning / carpet cleaning service for
  spring cleaning before moving in?
• Made copies of your house keys and remotes for
  other family members?
• Placed your “Useful Telephone Numbers” sheet within
  reach / view?
• Checked the alarm system of new home?
  (about 2 weeks before moving)
